You want prospects? You got 'em!
Will check in later with updates. It's tough for Hendriks. Benson and Parmelee to get thrown into the fire like this, but it will make for interesting viewing tonight.
Benson is a very good athlete who twice rushed for over 300 yards in a game for Joliet (Ill) Catholic. He has a good arm and a some pop. Parmelee has shown pretty good plate discipline but hasn't shown the power the Twins claim he has. Hopefully, they won't be too overwhelmed being in the majors and can show their talents.
Benson said a few people, including his father and high school coach (Benson played for prep powerhouse Joliet Catholic) are driving over for the game. Nice to see Chi-Town represent.
Injury updates
Lefthander Francisco Liriano (shoulder) did long toss drills on Tuesday and felt very good. The next step is for him to throw in the bullpen later this week. There's a chance Liriano could be shut down for the remainder of the season but he wants to try to pitch if all goes well.
Righthander Scott Baker (elbow) was supposed to throw in the bullpen on Tuesday but was scratched when he reported some soreness. He will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Lefthander Brian Duensing (right oblique) had a pain-free workout and the Twins will speak with him on Wednesday about when he'll throw in the bullpen again.
