Twins-Red Sox: One more game, then off to Detroit

The Twins, still reeling from Ervin Santana's drug suspension, finish their exhibition season today. The players are dressing for the game and packing for Detroit at the same time. The plan is for the starters to get two at-bats then scram.

Good morning. Had a chance to talk to some of the regulars this morning about the Santana situation (none of them played at jetBlue last night) and they were just as stunned as everyone else was. A couple can't believe Santana knowingly took Stanozolol because it's been around for so long.

Heard Santana got a little emotional in the clubhouse yesterday afternoon when Twins manager Paul Molitor informed the team about the suspension. Teammates still approached Santana with hugs of support. Don't get me wrong, players are bummed that they lose Santana for half a season but they aren't going to turn their backs on him.

The players are dressing for the game and packing for Detroit at the same time. The plan is for the starters to get two at-bats then scram. There's an entire second unit of minor leaguers ready to enter the game.

Nick Burdi is back as an extra pitcher. And Dallas Gallant is here too. He posted an 0.64 ERA at Cedar Rapids last season with a 13.79 strikeout to walk ratio. At age 26, it's time for him to make a move. His career has been held up by Tommy John surgery in 2011, other injuries and a 50-game suspension (amphetamines) in 2013.
