Twins pitchers and catchers to report to spring training Feb. 18

Team announces its spring training schedule.

Twins pitchers and catchers will report to spring training in Fort Myers, Fla., on Feb. 18, with the team's 32-game Grapefruit League schedule opening March 3 against Tampa Bay at Hammond Stadium.

The Twins announced their spring training schedule today with snow covering the ground in Minnesota. The first pitchers and catchers workout will be held Feb. 19, with the first full-squad workout on Feb. 24.

Other key spring training dates:

March 9: The World Series champion Cardinals visit Hammond Stadium.

March 11: The Yankees make their annual trip to Hammond Stadium.

April 1: The fifth of five games against the Red Sox, which decides the annual Fort Myers Mayor's Cup.

April 3: The seventh of seven games against Tampa Bay, which trains in nearby Port Charlotte, Fla.

April 4: The Twins will play Class A Fort Myers on getaway day, before flying north to Baltimore, where they open the season on April 6 at Camden Yards.
