The Twins dropped a 4-0 B game at Boston this morning before the main game at Hammond Stadium against the Orioles. The game was to give some younger players a chance to get in some game action while helping a few others prepare for World Baseball Classic action.

There wasn't much offensively in the seven-inning game. Aaron Hicks was 1-for-3 with a double. Eddie Rosario was 1-for-3.

Samuel Deduno, who is expected to start for the Dominican Republic, gave up three earned runs over 1.2 innings. Six of the 11 batters he faced reached base (four hits, two walks) and it was a lineup with just two players who are in major league camp.

Things got better after he left. Alex Meyer gave up a double down the line in two scoreless innings. Jose Berrios retired all six batters he faced. B.J. Hermsen gave up a run in the final inning.

Now, on to the main game at Hammond Stadium.

Great to see Lew Ford in the O's lineup. The man has come back from the minors - in Japan - to MLB postseason last year. And he brought former Twins Alexi Casilla and Danny Valencia with him.

Only in the vacuum of the Twins’ reality can this be considered a significant move.
