Twins hope to get boost by the return of Sano to lineup

The Twins offense has scored eight runs over four games of this road trip. And they have lost three straight.

Miguel Sano is back in the Twins lineup after missing two games because of a sprained right ankle.

Mike Trout is back in the Angels lineup after missing a game with a sore left heel.

Looks like a wash, doesn't it?

Just kidding. People have no humor these days. I essentially tweeted that Sano cancels out Trout, and people took it seriously. Lighten up, there's a lot of baseball left to be played,

The Twins are trying to halt a three-game slide as they send righthander Mike Pelfrey to the mound. But the problem has been the eight runs the Twins have scored in the four games since the All-Star break. The bats need to get going, which is why they were eager to get Sano back in the lineup on Wednesday.

Some fans are already signaling the beginning of the death march for the local nine.

``In here, you try to help maintain a perspective that's a little bit larger," Twins manager Paul Molitor said.

Molitor was asked if his perspective is aided by them still being three games ahead in the race for the final Wild Card spot.

``Is that what it is?" Molitor said. ``I couldn't even tell you where we are in that regard."

Catcher Kurt Suzuki is not in the lineup tonight. He's 2-for-25 against C.J. Wilson - plus he's just not hitting.

``It's a combination," Molitor said. ``It's not going particularly well, we all know that, for Kurt. Trying to pick spots."
