Toro Co. has acquired certain assets of USPraxis Inc., a Sycamore, Ill.-based manufacturer of outdoor power equipment. Terms of the acquisition, which is not expected to have a material effect on Toro's earnings, were not disclosed Friday.

The acquisition adds stump grinders, wood chippers and log splitters for the rental market to Bloomington-based Toro's portfolio. The deal also includes a sharpening service that offers rental stores a way to maintain the equipment.

The products will be marketed under Toro's brand and sold to rental outlets through Toro's distribution channels. Manufacturing will be shifted in about a year to yet-to-be determined Toro facilities, the company said.
