Wu Han, Benjamin Beilman and David Finckel

Finckel and Han are chamber music royalty and avid evangelists for small-scale compositions. The cellist and pianist will explore the music of Franz Schubert with violinist Beilman, performing the composer’s two piano trios. Leonidas Kavakos and the Minnesota Orchestra

When last in town, this brilliant Greek violinist performed two breathtaking solo recitals containing all of J.S. Bach’s sonatas and partitas. He’ll return to play Mozart’s Third Violin Concerto, then conduct Dmitri Shostakovich’s 15th and final symphony. Richard Goode and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra

One of America’s greatest concert pianists is the SPCO’s newest artistic partner, launching his tenure with a Mozart piano concerto and chamber music by Leoš Janáček. Jean-Efflam Bavouzet

Speaking of excellent pianists, this Frenchman’s specialty is the music of his home country. Over the course of two Schubert Club recitals, he’ll perform the complete solo piano works of Maurice Ravel. Roderick Williams

The renowned English baritone christens a mini-Twin Cities residency by singing John Adams’ “The Wound-Dresser” with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. The Edgar Meyer Trio

The classical world’s premiere bassist likes to mix folk flavors into his original compositions, as he’ll demonstrate with his new trio, which features violinist Tessa Lark and cellist Joshua Roman. Sasha Cooke

Having won two Grammys for her opera performances, this mezzo-soprano also received a nomination for a 2022 solo album. ‘A German Requiem’

Johannes Brahms wrote his requiem in memory of his mother, but it’s a very life-affirming work in which conductor Thomas Søndergård will lead the Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Chorale and two exceptional vocal soloists, soprano Siobhan Stagg and baritone Blake Denson. Bojan Čičić and the Lyra Baroque Orchestra

This Croatian violinist is the new artistic director of the Twin Cities-based period instrument orchestra, a real catch when you consider his status as one of the early music world’s most renowned violinists and the leader of one of its top ensembles, England’s Academy of Ancient Music. The Danish String Quartet

This adventurous foursome is known for compelling interpretations from the canon (such as the complete Beethoven quartets it performed here in 2021), as well as creating imaginative new hybrids of classical and traditional Nordic folk.
