For the first time in many years, neither Prince nor the Replacements will have new collector’s edition albums issued on Record Store Day in 2026, but several other Minnesotan or Minnesota-rooted acts will.

The Jayhawks, Cory Wong and former Twin Cities music makers Adrianne Lenker and Bob Mould are listed alongside marquee names like Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Madonna and Bruno Mars on this year’s mega-list of more than 350 limited-run releases slated to hit independent stores on Record Store Day, which this year falls on April 18. Mars also is serving as this year’s official RSD ambassador, a position filled in recent years by Taylor Swift, Post Malone and Brandi Carlile.

More new RSD releases also are coming this year from David Bowie, the Cure, the Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Sonic Youth, Neil Young, Ethel Cain, Olivia Dean, Fall Out Boy and the unlikely combo of the Doors’ John Densmore and Public Enemy’s Chuck D. The latter two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers have a full album arriving that day under the band moniker doPE. (Get it?)

Here’s a rundown of the RSD 2026 releases with Minnesota ties:

  • The Jayhawks, “2 Meter Sessions” — A single-LP vinyl collection of live recordings the Americana rock vets made in 1997 and 2000 for the popular Dutch TV music show of the same name.
    • Cory Wong, “Cory Wong and the Green Screen Band” — A one-LP vinyl reissue of an album the funky guitar hero put out on CD in 2017 with an all-star cast of Twin Cities backers, including Yohannes Tona, Tommy Barbarella, Noah Levy and Ricky Peterson.
      • Adrianne Lenker, “Live at Revolution Hall” — The Big Thief singer is offering a three-LP vinyl set featuring 43 tracks recorded over three nights in Portland, Ore., on her 2024 solo-acoustic tour.
        • Bob Mould, “Body of Song (20th Anniversary Expanded Edition)” — A two-LP version of the record the former Hüsker Dü noisemaker made while he was also heavily into electronic dance music, an influence especially heard in some of the bonus tracks.
          • Sugar, “File Under: Easy Listening (The Singles Collection)” — Another one from Mould, this one is a collection of three 12-inch singles from his ’90s trio’s second album. Its release is tied to the band’s comeback later this year.

Among some of the nonlocal highlights on the new RSD list are Springsteen’s “Live at Asbury Park 2024” (five-LP vinyl set or three-disc CD); Pink Floyd’s “Live From the Los Angeles Sports Arena, April 26, 1975” (four-LP vinyl or two-disc CD); Carlile’s “Live at Easy Street Records, Vol. III” (single-LP vinyl); Madonna’s “Confessions Tour - Live From London” (two-LP vinyl); Jeff Buckley’s “Live À L’Olympia” (two-LP vinyl reissue) and the Grateful Dead’s “Boston Music Hall 6/11/76” (five-LP vinyl).
