Tony Oliva to be inducted into Negro Leagues 'Hall of Game'

April 27, 2016 at 4:05AM

Twins great Tony Oliva will be inducted into the Negro League Baseball Museum's "Hall of Game" as part of a class that includes Orlando Cepeda, Andre Dawson and Tim Raines.

The Hall of Game, established in 2014, recognizes those who played with the same passion as Negro League greats. The Hall of Game induction luncheon is scheduled for June 11 in Kansas City.

St. Paul native Dave Winfield was a charter member of the Hall of Game.

Oliva, who is not in the Baseball Hall of Fame, played his entire career for the Twins. He was a three-time American League batting champion and an eight-time All-Star.
