Not only is tonight's game being delayed by rain, there are concerns about heavy rain and lightning. Fans have been asked to head for covered areas of Target Field.

No one knows how long the delay will last. Check back here for updates.

UPDATE: They hope for a 6:55 start.

As expected, Miguel Sano is not in the lineup today against Texas. Sano was plunked on the left hand on Friday by Tony Barnette, near the same spot he was hit on July 24 at Los Angeles.

Twins manager Paul Molitor wasn't even sure Sano would be available as a pinch hitter. I would not be surprised if Sano doesn't play Sunday either.

Sano's injury, combined with Joe Mauer being 0-for-12 against Cole Hamels, has led Molitor to use Ehire Adrianza at first base. He's made two late inning appearances there this season, but this is his first start there for the Twins. Adrianza actually started and played nine innings at first for the Giants in 2015. He said he feels comfortable there.

No Sano and no Mauer means that the Twins have a middle order of Eduardo Escobar, Chris Gimenez and Eddie Rosario against Hamels today. Wow.

Kyle Gibson is on the mound for the Twins today, his first start since his return from Class AAA Rochester.
