Timberwolves move preseason game against Nuggets because of WNBA Finals

The Lynx-Liberty series could have a Game 4 at Target Center on Oct. 18, so the Wolves will play the night before.

The Timberwolves have only one preseason game at Target Center this season, and coincidentally it will conflict with a WNBA playoff game.

So the Wolves-Denver Nuggets game scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18, has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.

The Lynx and the New York Liberty have a best-of-five WNBA Finals series that starts Thursday night in Brooklyn.

Game 4 of the series, if necessary, is set for Target Center on Oct. 18.

The Wolves’ next preseason game is Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers in Des Moines; they face the New York Knicks — and former teammate Karl-Anthony Towns — on Sunday night at Madison Square Garden.

That game won’t conflict, arena-wise, with the second game of the Lynx-Liberty series, which is at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The Wolves open the NBA regular season on Oct. 22 in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
