Five-game tournament packages are on sale for the WCHA Final Five on March 18-20 at the Xcel Energy Center.
Single game tickets (if available) will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 8. Purchase tickets at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000. Group tickets (10+) are available for five-game tournament packages and individual games by calling 651-312-3486.
The Gophers will probably have to win a first-round series on the road to get there, but they did that two years ago at Minnesota State Mankato. The favorites are Denver, which is leading the WCHA race with two weeks to go, Wisconsin and St. Cloud State. So several, if not all, of those teams should be competing.
Each West Regional package includes one ticket to Session 1 (Friday, March 26 – two games) and one ticket to Session 2 (Saturday, March 27 – one game). Ticket packages are $94.00 each. If available, individual day tickets will go on sale the week of the event. Among the teams which could be at this site are Denver and UMD, which competed in the West Regional a year ago at Mariucci, and Bemidji State. The Gophers are a longshot to make it. As it stands now, Minnesota would probably have to win the Final Five to get an automatic berrth in the NCAA tournament field of 16.
