CLASS 3A

• SECTION 5 CHAMPIONSHIP: After Alec Abercrombie led off with a triple, Joe Fredrickson hit a winning single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Mounds View a 5-4 victory over Centennial at CHS Field on Thursday. Charlie Callahan hit a two-run homer for the two-time defending state champion Mustangs.

CLASS 2A

• SECTION 4 CHAMPIONSHIP: Minnehaha Academy escaped with a 5-3 victory over Blake and claim the title at Wintercrest Park in Coon Rapids. Redhawks starter Alex Fedje-Johnson went 6⅔ innings before Blake put runners on first and second in the top of the seventh inning. Fedje-Johnson gave way to Jesse Retzlaff, who got a fly out to end the game. "It got a little tense," Minnehaha coach Scott Glenn said. "… But [Alex] did a great job early in the game, got ahead and he attacked."
