Three people were found dead after a house fire in Anderson Township, Wis., early Sunday morning.

A residence on Shogren Road was “fully engulfed in flames” when first responders arrived before 5 a.m., according to Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch.

The city touches the St. Croix River on the east side of the Minnesota-Wisconsin border about 25 miles north of Taylors Falls.

The fire remains under investigation, and those found dead in the home were believed to be its residents. No names have been released.

The Wisconsin Fire Marshal’s Office is helping to investigate.
