Back by popular demand -- or at least by one commenter, Clarence Swamptown -- we give you the return of the Great Vikings QB search, as determined by ourself and Local Quipster (in what the RandBall Better Half calls "The Napkin Prophecy.") If you will recall, we did this two years ago after the Vikings lost to the Eagles in the playoffs. While our cell phone picture taking capability has certainly changed since then, the Vikings' search for a permanent solution at QB has not. Two years of Brett Favre -- one as good as anyone could imagine, one as bad as anyone could imagine -- have the team pretty much back to square one.
As such, we made a list of all QBs potentially available via free agency or a trade. We factored in age, how much it would take to get the QB and plenty of other factors. Tom's picks are on the left, ours are on the right. In case you can't read them, here is the breakdown:
1. RB: Carson Palmer; LQ: Palmer
2. RB: Donovan McNabb; LQ: Kyle Orton
3. RB: Kurt Warner; LQ: Vince Young
4. RB: Kevin Kolb; LQ: Ryan Fitzpatrick
5. RB: Vince Young; LQ: Joe Webb
6. RB: Matt Schaub; LQ: Kevin Kolb
7. RB: Joe Webb; LQ: Kellen Clemens
8. RB: Ryan Fitzpatrick; LQ: Donovan McNabb
9. RB: Kyle Orton; LQ: Jon Kitna
10. RB: Matt Hasselbeck; LQ: Troy Smith
11. RB: Jon Kitna; LQ: Matt Schaub
