Good times.

So you've obviously heard the news by now. Bill Smith is out as Twins GM. Terry Ryan, the man Smith replaced in 2007 (file photo from that day) is coming back on an interim basis. When you mess up bad enough that they have to bring back the previous guy to clean up the mess -- a la Bud Grant and Les Steckel -- you know things are bad. That said, it was only a little over two months ago that we made Smith the No. 1 target on the Minnesota coach/GM hot seat. You'll recall Smith rated a 9.5 out of 10 on the VERY SCIENTIFIC RandBall heat index.

Others in the Hot Hot Hot category at the time: Don Lucia, who now coaches the No. 1 team in the country; and Joel Maturi, who presides over an athletic department that hardly seems as bleak as it did two months ago and could be on the way out soon regardless.

So we ask, as we did on Twitter: Who is the new Public Enemy No. 1 of Minnesota sports fans now that Smith (and Brad Childress) are out? Some of the early suggestions via tweets: Maturi, David Kahn, Joe Mauer, stadium opponents/legislators, the Wilf family, Tubby Smith, Kevin McHale, Tim Brewster (!), George Tsamis (!), Buzz Lagos (!) and even us (!!!).

Your thoughts, please, in the comments.
