Looks like fun.

Mike Ditka is slated to be in Minneapolis on Saturday ... at Surdyk's. Why would he be doing that? No, he not a lover of local craft beers like noted snob and commenter DaveMN. Rather, per the Surdyk's site: Football legend and Coach Mike Ditka will be here for the official exclusive Minnesota launch of his private label wines from Mendocino County and cigar line.

Wait, what?

Per that site: Coach Ditka traveled to the Mendocino Wine Company facility in Northern California, and actively participated in evaluative and blending tastings. Together, the coach and Mendocino Wine Company's winemaking team created five unique, high-quality wines.

As you can see by the picture, those five wines include four rather standard varieties ... and the "Kick Ass Red."

We have to suspect a currently active football coach here in the Twin Cities might enjoy a glass of that while going over his offensive playbook.

In any event, we'll be gone all weekend in Chicago at Blogs With Balls. Anyone able to make it and do a guest post?
