The man suspected of fatally shooting one man and injuring another in gunfire on Christmas night in Hibbing, Minn., was arrested Friday in St. Paul.

Jerome D. Spann, 29, was arrested at a home in the 30 block of Sycamore Street E. and booked into the Ramsey County jail, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety said in a news release. Charges are pending.

On Tuesday night, 911 callers in the Iron Range city reported shots being fired. Police went to the 2400 block of 3rd Avenue E., where they found two victims, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

A man was pronounced dead at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, authorities said. The other person was treated at the hospital and released.

On Friday, the Hibbing Daily Tribune identified the deceased victim as Jeryel McBeth, 34, and the wounded man as Jamien Stukey, 25, both of Hibbing. According to the Daily Tribune, authorities say the men all knew one another.

Spann fled in a vehicle with an unidentified male and was believed to have traveled to St. Paul, where he has relatives, the BCA had said. He was sought for several days.

His criminal history in Minnesota includes two convictions for illegal gun possession and two for driving after his license was suspended.

When the investigation is complete, the BCA and Hibbing police will present their findings to the St. Louis County Attorney's Office for review.
