DETROIT -- The Twins and Tigers will play on national television today, and you can bet Fox will use the telecast to showcase a Tigers team that has won seven consecutive games and looks like a very imposing playoff team.
Surging Tigers and free-falling Twins square off today on national TV
Starting pitcher Anthony Swarzak and the Twins will take a back seat on the Fox telecast.

The Tigers are 16-4 in their past 20 games against the Twins, including 12-4 this year.
The Twins, meanwhile, continue their stunning free fall. They have now been outscored 711-553 this season, a run differential of -158. Only the Astros (-163) have been worse.
Update: Tsuyoshi Nishioka is back on the bench. He's been trying to play through this oblique injury, and Manager Ron Gardenhire did not like how his swing looked Friday.
Michael Cuddyer, who has two different bone bruises and inflammation in his left wrist, is taking swings today and sounded optimistic about being able to play Tuesday in Kansas City.
With Joe Mauer at DH, Jason Kubel is getting another day off to rest his sore left foot.
