Suns blame themselves for Wolves loss -- except Steve Nash

A view from Phoenix about Monday night's game.

Sometimes, it's good to see a game from an outside point of view.

Reading the Phoenix coverage of Monday night's Timberwolves victory over the Suns, it's good for Wolves fans to see that a loss to Minnesota is no longer seen as a freak-show event. It's still kind of hard to get used to that, even though the Wolves are on the edge of the playoff hunt in the Western Conference. It's a bit of a novelty to think of them having a better record than the struggling -- but usually superior -- Suns.

That being said, here's some of what came out of the Suns' locker room after the 124-121 loss to the Wolves, from the Arizona Republic's website -- azcentral.com.

Suns coach Alvin Gentry on Kevin Love's 30-point performance: "We have to make him (Love) a dribble guy and not a catch-and-shoot guy."

Suns center Marcin Gortat, on being badly outperformed by Nikola Pekovic: "I just wasn't ready to play."

Steve Nash had 25 points, 10 assistant and seemed to write off the victory to Minnesota's good fortune: "So many loose balls and tap-outs and things like that went in their favor. That had as much of an effect on the game as making shots."
