"Stuff" my kids ruined

Broken, mangled, twisted, shattered, markered, scribbled, fried...

May 19, 2010 at 1:48PM

Oh boy, the things our kids have broken or otherwise damaged in one way or another.

Countless cheap sunglasses and reading glasses snapped in half or twisted, a pair or three of dry clean only pants, some towels and blankets well, became toxic waste, the flat screen TV ALMOST became a chalkboard but I caught her just in time. The list goes on....

Once again blog-land shows parents that "you are not alone." and allows you to visually commiserate. Check out this site "Stuff my kids ruined" ( We're a family blog so I will concur with the NYT article below and used "Stuff" instead of the non-newspaper friendly expletive).

It's a tongue in cheek blog of photos, from stretch-marked bellies to items that have been scribbled on with permanent marker, shattered, mangled, spilled on, or otherwise broken.

You can read the backstory from the New York Times on how the site developed here: Broken lamps, fried computers and other adorable things.

(Hat tip to fellow parent and blogger, Kara McGuire of KaBlog for pointing out the above NYT article and site...)

What can you add to the list of things ruined by your kids?

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
