The Huntdown Name: Mauro Gozzo Nickname: Goose Claim to Fame, Minnesota: pitched in all of two games for the Minnesota Twins in 1992, posting an ERA of 27.00 and a WHIP of 4.2. I'm told that this is bad. Claim to Fame, Everywhere Else: was drafted by the Mets and finished his career with them. Also had stops in Toronto and Cleveland. Where He Is Now: operates Goose's Major League Instruction, LLC, in his home state of Connecticut. They claim their most successful alum is Giants pitcher Matt Cain, and their Goose's Gamers squad defeated the Don Mattingly-sponsored Team Mattingly at this past June's Summer Sizzle in North Brand, Connecticut. But you knew that already. Is He on Twitter: no. Glorious Randomness: as a Google Image search clearly shows, someone named their cat after Mauro Gozzo. I can think of no better piece of knowledge to glean as you enter your Labor Day weekend.
