Store coupons that redeem themselves - sort of Ever go shopping and then return home only to discover that the coupons you'd clipped were still in your pocket? CoalitionWorks, a Wayzata company, is testing Zing! Smart Shopping Network, a Web-based coupon and loyalty rewards program. It will test the system at Dale Riley's Fresh Season's Market in Minnetonka. Zing is a shopper-centric program that replaces checkout coupons, direct mail, Internet print-at-home coupons and inserts in newspapers. Shoppers go to the Zing website and build shopping lists. The program matches special offers to their lists. Shoppers "e-clip" the ones they want to a personal and secure online portfolio. In the store, a scan of the shopper's Zing digital ID records the savings and tracks rewards points. Shoppers don't have to search for coupons, and checkout people don't have to scan multiple coupons.

Zing was developed by Lawrence Wiken and Wiken International, a Wayzata relationship-marketing agency.
