Home furnishings salesBella Casa Decor & Gifts (1715 W. County Rd. 42, Burnsville, 952-892-5552) is quitting business by mid-October. Save an additional 25 to 55 percent on all merchandise, including traditional art, accessories, lamps, furniture, mirrors, floral arrangements, bedding, candles and women's accessories. Further markdowns will be made as the end date nears.

If you're headed to the ASID sample sale at International Market Square through Saturday, head across the street for more deals on furnishings at Hirshfield's Design Studio (721 2nd Av. N., Mpls., 612-374-8901). Hirshfield's sale includes furniture, lighting, accessories and art at 30 to 80 percent off. Everything in the store will be discounted 30 percent or more, but all Bernhardt furniture will be discounted 65 percent. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Dress for Success clothing sale Twice a year the Dress for Success Twin Cities charity opens its closets to raise money for its charitable cause -- promoting economic independence for disadvantaged women by providing professional attire and a network of support. It's an assortment of thousands of pieces of donated fall/winter business suits, business casual, evening wear, coats, shoes and handbags. Nothing at the sale costs more than $40, and most items are less than $20, including Escada and Armani in the designer section. Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 1549 W. University Av., St. Paul, 651-646-6000, www.dressforsuccess.org/twincities.

Cereal prices plunge for a day Malt-O-Meal cereals for $1 per bag (10 to 14 oz.) are a great deal, although some extreme couponers would dare to do better. Sales of Frosted Mini-Spooners, Honey Nut Scooters, hot wheat and other varieties start at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the IDS Crystal Court (80 S. 8th St., Mpls.). Supplies usually run out by noon. Nearly 25,000 bags are sold during the annual event for the United Way. The company donates $2 for each bag sold, up to $50,000. Coupons are not accepted at the sale.
