Miller-Koch saves best for last in heptathlon
RIO DE JANEIRO – St. Cloud State alum Heather Miller-Koch finished the Olympic heptathlon in a flourish, winning the 800 meters on Saturday night at Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The victory enabled Koch to finish 18th overall in the heptathlon. She finished 23rd in the shot put, 21st in the 200 meters, 16th in the long jump and 22nd in the javelin throw before winning the 800. "It was definitely a nice way to finish,'' Miller-Koch said. "I knew I was in shape to run a great 800. I had to trust my training and put a personal best out there. It was a great way to end the competition, for sure.''
