Spirit Airlines, a no-frills airline based in Florida, on Thursday began an expanded roster of winter seasonal flights at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The airline previously announced that it was adding seasonal daily nonstop flights to Los Angeles and Phoenix, and to Orlando and Tampa, Fla. It continues to offer similar flights to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers, Fla.
Spirit Airlines offers low fares, but has been criticized for its poor record for on-time arrivals, which at 64 percent is well below the national airline average of 80 percent. The company has said improving its on-time arrival is one of its priorities.
