Spartans' DeHaan stands tall in victory BIG TEN
• NO. 25 MICHIGAN STATE 93, OKLAHOMA STATE 90 (OT): Allyssa DeHaan scored 23 points Saturday to help the Spartans overcome a 44-point game by Andrea Riley and beat the Cowgirls in double overtime at the Junkanoo Jam in Freeport, Bahamas. DeHaan also had nine rebounds and eight blocks while Kalisha Keane added 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Spartans (4-2). Riley, who was 14-for-42 from the field, also had eight assists for the Cowgirls (4-2).
• NO. 3 OHIO STATE 88, IUPUI 33: Samantha Prahalis had 12 points and 10 assists to key Ohio State's lethal transition game, leading the Buckeyes to a victory over IUPUI in the semifinals of the Buckeye Classic in Columbus. Jantel Lavender added 12 points and Shavelle Little 10 as the Buckeyes substituted freely while earning a matchup with No. 22 California (3-1) in Sunday's championship game. The Bears beat Southern 78-47 in the first semifinal. Clara Mitchell led IUPUI (0-5) with eight points.
• WISCONSIN 58, OREGON 57: Lin Zastrow's layup at the buzzer gave Wisconsin a road victory over Oregon in the World Vision Invitational in Eugene, Ore. Teah Grant lobbed an inbounds pass to Zastrow from near the corner of the Wisconsin bench with 1.8 seconds left, and the 6-4 forward converted to cap a game that had 19 lead changes and nine ties.
• NORTHWESTERN 61, PENNSYLVANIA 39: Northwestern held Pennsylvania to just 16 first-half points en route to a victory over in the fourth and final game of the DoubleTree White Invitational in Evanston, Ill. Nine Wildcats scored, led by freshman Kendall Hackney, who had 13 points and seven rebounds.
• ILLINOIS 56, CAL POLY 47: The Cal Poly women's basketball team was held to six points in the final 10 minutes and lost to Illinois at the San Luis Obispo Holiday Beach Classic. Cal Poly (2-2) was facing a Big Ten Conference opponent for the first time since falling against Iowa on Nov. 21, 1981.
• PENN STATE 52, HOLY CROSS 48: After 11/2-hour delay because the lights went out, the Holy Cross women's basketball team couldn't hold on to a five-point second-half lead, falling to Penn State in the Dead River Classic championship game at the Alfond Sports Arena.

• BRITTNEY GRINER played only 19 minutes, but the 6-8 Baylor freshman made an impact on coach Errol Rogers and his Ragin' Cajuns in Waco, Texas. Griner had 14 points and a career-best 14 rebounds as the No. 8 Lady Bears beat Louisiana-Lafayette 89-42 in the World Vision Invitational. "She affects the way everybody plays," Rogers said. "She's going to change the face of the women's game."
