Of all the bad luck, Denard Span nailed his own mother with a foul ball Wednesday afternoon.

During this Wednesday's Spring Training game against the New York Yankees at Steinbrenner Field, Denard Span ran into some pretty crappy luck.

The Twins center fielder fouled off a 3-2 pitch from Phil Hughes that managed to avoid everyone near the third base dugout seats except for his own mother, Wanda Wilson, who was hit right in the chest. Span ran to her aid immediately, but Mama is tough as nails and needed little to no medical attention.

Span got back into the batters box, but was called out on strikes and ended up with an 0-for-2 day after leaving the game in the third inning, hopefully to check on his mother.

Seriously, what are the odds? Well, pretty good when you have sweet seats to every game your son plays in.
