Started by American Express in 2010 as a promotion for its small business customers, Small Business Saturday is held the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It encourages people to shop at small neighborhood retailers.
Cyber Monday
It takes place the Monday after Thanksgiving, with many online retailers offering extra perks such as percentages off and free shipping.
