BUDAPEST, Hungary — Simona Halep won her third WTA tournament of the year by defeating Yvonne Meusburger 6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-1 on Sunday in the final of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The 21-year-old Romanian lost the first three finals of her career but is now 16-1 since the French Open, also winning titles in Nuremberg, Germany, and Rosmalen, Netherlands.

In the second set, Halep rallied from a 3-5 deficit but squandered three match points before Meusburger won the tiebreaker.

Halep relied on well-placed drop shots in the third set and broke the Austrian three times.
