The free search provides access to Star Tribune articles and multimedia published since December 2007. Search does not include StarTribune.com blog posts or photos. A few Star Tribune articles are initially published exclusively in the newspaper and do not appear on StarTribune.com for several days.
Articles by the Associated Press are searchable for 21 days, as are most wire service articles published in the Star Tribune newspaper. Most New York Times articles are available for only one day. Articles by the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Wire Service are not available on StarTribune.com and are therefore not accessible through the free article search.
Articles published in the Star Tribune newspaper before December 2007 are accessible through the paid archives search.

Q: The search returns no results. What should I do?
A: First, check the spelling of your search term. If it is spelled correctly, consider using a different term, as the free article search matches the exact term you type into the search box. Also, consider using our Advanced Search option to refine your search. Using Advanced Search, you can find stories by the date they appeared on the site or in the newspaper, the section and page they appeared on in the newspaper, the author name or headline and more.
