• Number of times a program can fail the requirements before getting its federal aid yanked: 2

• Percentage of students who have to be repaying their loan in order to meet the requirement: 35 percent or more

• Limit on discretionary income that can go toward paying off student loans under the new rules: No more than 30 percent per year.

• Limit on total earnings that can go toward paying off student loans under the new rules: No more than 12 percent per year.

• Number of gainful employment programs nationwide: 55,405

• Number at public institutions: 37,218

• Number at nonprofit schools: 5,072

• Number at for-profit schools: 13,155

• Percentage of programs under the final regulations that will fail at least once: 8 percent.

• Percentage that will ultimately lose eligibility for federal aid: 2 percent.
