Rimage Corp. of Minneapolis to change name to Qumu Corp., emphasize online video

June 18, 2013 at 1:57AM

Rimage Corp. of Minneapolis, seeking to emphasize the video business of a company it acquired in 2011, will change its name to Qumu Corp. in the third quarter.

Rimage, which lost $48.3 million last year on revenue of $79.4 million, has been a provider of on-demand CD, DVD and Blu-ray Disc publishing. With the name change, Rimage will emphasize the corporate online video business it obtained through the acquisition of California-based Qumu Inc. in late 2011.

The company said Qumu's business is aimed at the "growing multibillion-dollar market for enterprise video and rich content."

The company will continue to use the Rimage brand for its disc publishing business.
