A dispute inside a downtown Minneapolis strip club spilled into the street, where a man was shot and critically wounded, officials said.
The conflict began about 3:40 a.m. Sunday with officers responding to a report of an assault in the 300 block of 3rd Street S., police said.
The officers soon heard gunfire and found a man in his 40s with “potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds,” a police statement read.
An ambulance arrived and took the man to HCMC. His condition and identity have yet to be disclosed as of Monday morning.
Preliminary information indicated that an altercation that began inside Rick’s Cabaret, a little more than a block from police headquarters and “continued down the block, where it escalated into gunfire,” the statement continued.
Police have yet to announce any arrests in connection with the shooting, nor disclosed any details about what led to the altercation.
