For the 10th year in a row, Lennar was the top homebuilder in the Twin Cities metro, according to a recent survey by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC).

That ranking is based on annual gross revenue from for-sale housing built in the 13-county metro area. Lennar, which is based in Florida, had gross revenue for 442 single-family and 60 multifamily homes (502 total) of $233 million. Those were deals that were built and closed during 2015. The company has held the top spot since 2006.

"It's a great honor that Twin Cities families have chosen Lennar as the No. 1 builder for 10 straight years," said Bill Burgess, Lennar Division president, in a statement. Listening to our buyers' ideas and dreams of what they want in their new home allows us to build them a great energy-efficient home in an outstanding neighborhood and school district, with the newest colors and design trends included."

Following Lennar, these are the top 10 homebuilders during 2015:

2. CalAtlantic Homes (formerly Ryland Homes) with more than $150 million in revenue and 381 units.

3. PulteGroup with revenue of nearly $144 million and 292 units.

4. D.R. Horton with $124 million revenue and 263 units.

5. Mattamy Homes with $109 million in revenue and 295 units.

6. K. Hovnanian Homes of MN with $94.5 million in revenue and 241 units.

7. Hanson Builders with $66.4 million in revenue and 91 units.

8. Robert Thomas Homes Inc. with $62.7 million in revenue and 124 units.

9. Gonyea Homes Inc. with $60.5 million in revenue and 63 units.

10. M/I Homes (formerly Hans Hagen Homes) with $44 million in revenue and 117 units.
