Vashti Cunningham probably will get over it about the time she sets foot on Brazilian soil, but she'd rather be arriving as a winner. Cunningham, the 18-year-old daughter of former Vikings quarterback Randall Cunningham, qualified by finishing second in the high jump at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials on Sunday.

"I'm very appreciative, just to be able to go to the Olympics this year," Cunningham told USA Today. "So I'm more thankful than disappointed. It was a relief to qualify and just know that I was top three. At the same time, I still wanted to win. I always want to win."

Cunningham is the youngest U.S. track and field athlete to qualify for the Olympics since 1980.

"This is greater than anything I've ever done," Randall Cunningham told NBC Sports. "It's always better when you see your kids doing it."
