Greetings from Target Center, where the Lynx will tip off with L.A. in about an hour.
Frankly, Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve is thrilled to be getting L.A. again so quickly after their 22-point loss in L.A. five days ago.
"For sure, for sure," Reeve said. "I like it a lot. Mostly because it's fresh in your mind, what you didn't do. Our feelings, our wounds, are very open and so it's very easy to have their attention. I think they're excited to be home.''
L.A. is looking for a fifth straight win, something the Sparks haven't done since winning six straight in the 2013 season. The Lynx are looking to stop their first losing streak of the season.
Here are some other pre-game items:
--Seimone Augustus responded well to her first practice and the flight home. Recovering from knee surgery, Augustus is warmed up with the team but will not play. There is an outside chance she might play Wednesday against San Antonio, but her likely return is in Friday's game at Atlanta.
--Lindsay Whalen, Augustus and Maya Moore will receive their 2014 FIBA championship rings in a ceremony before the game at center court. They will be joined by Reeve, who was an assistant coach no that team and will get a ring, too.
--Whalen enters the game needing eight assists to reach 2,000 for her career. Only two currently have reached that level – Ticha Penicheiro (2,599) and Sue Bird (2,179).
