Prep football teams played for the right to move on in the playoffs Friday night. Here are some highlights, covered by the Star Tribune staff:

Game story: Elliot Kane kicked a 34-yard field goal for Osseo with 2:13 left in the fourth quarter to give the Orioles a 17-14 victory over Prior Lake.

Game story: For the first time since 2002, Maple Grove is off to state after a 14-9 victory over Minnetonka.

Game recap: DeLaSalle hung on to the last second, defeating Benilde-St. Margaret's 27-23 in a wire-to-wire thriller.

Game recap: No. 1 seed Chaska defeated No. 2-seed and defending champion Mankato West 27-6 in the Class 5A, Section 2 championship.

Game recap: A St. Michael-Albertville defense that was burned by Rogers 16 days ago was fired up for the rematch. The host Royals claimed 21-7 victory in the Class 5A, Section 6 final.

Game recap: Lakeville North forced three turnovers and stopped Cretin-Derham Hall on a two-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter to win 14-12.
