DETROIT -- The Twins placed catcher Ryan Doumit on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right calf after Wednesday's 11-7 victory over Detroit and recalled outfielder Ben Revere from Class AAA Rochester.

Revere is expected to be at Comerica Park in time for Thursday's series finale against the Tigers.

Also of note, Nick Blackburn was pitching with a sore left quadriceps muscle throughout Wednesday's outing. He had issues with it during his previous start as well but said it didn't begin bothering again until he was warming up Wednesday.

With an off day Monday, the Twins can skip Blackburn's next turn through the rotation, but by May 26, they'll either need Blackburn or another starter ready to face these same Tigers at Target Field.

I'll have more on these injuries and reaction from tonight's win in tonight's late editions.

Update: Also, the Twins decided not to use Matt Capps Wednesday, as he's had a little soreness in his arm, but Manager Ron Gardenhire said Capps will be ready to go Thursday.
