Here's a closer look at two of the many senior housing options in the Twin Cities:

FOUR SEASONS AT RUSH CREEK IN MAPLE GROVE

What: Single-family home development with 134 lots on 53 acres surrounded by ponds and wetlands.

Owner: K. Hovnanian Homes, based in New Jersey with a Minnesota division in Eden Prairie.

The perks: Clubhouse and recreation center with indoor and outdoor pools, game room, fitness center and tennis court.

Cost: Seven home plans range from 1,544 square feet to 4,301 square feet. Base prices range from $279,990 to $339,990.

Association fee: $260 a month.

Occupancy: 25 percent.

HIGHVIEW HILLS IN LAKEVILLE

What: Three-story complex with 153 apartments, which include independent living, assisted living, memory care and care suites.

Owner: Walker Methodist, a Minneapolis nonprofit that owns and manages 12 senior housing properties in the Twin Cities.

The perks: 24-hour concierge, chef's exhibition kitchen, fitness center, art studio, movie theater, bistro, day spa, library, Internet lounge, game room, nine-hole putting green.

Cost: Rents start at $1,785 to $2,575 a month for one- and two-bedroom independent living apartments.

Occupancy: 50 percent reserved or occupied.
