Whatever Mike Pelfrey is doing right at home, he needs to bring it on the road.

The Twins righthander is in a big spot tonight as the Twins look to tie the series against the Yankees and then have a shot at winning the series on Wednesday. But Pelfrey is not as effective on the road as he is at Target Field.

At home, Pelfrey is 4-2 with an awesome 1.97 ERA.

On the road, Pelfrey is 2-5, 5.95. He has not won a game on the road since May 8 against Cleveland - seven road starts ago. He has had a couple good outings on the road since then but has either gotten a no decision or the Twins weren't hitting that day.

The Twins need Pelfrey to step up today after last night's 8-7 loss in 10 innings that threw the clubhouse into a morgue afterwards.

Righthanders are batting .329 against CC Sabathia this season, os Twins manger Paul Molitor is starting Shane Robinson in left instead of Eddie Rosario, who has looked dangerous up there lately. And, despite batting .171 against Sabathia, Joe Mauer is in the lineup.

Mark Teixeira is not in the Yankees lineup as they continue to examine his right leg, which was bruised when he fouled a ball off of in on Monday.

Bryan Mitchell, the pitcher hit in the face by a line drive on Monday, has been placed on the 7-day concussion list. And righthander Caleb Cotham has been sent to the minors.

In their places, the Yankees have called up lefthander Chris Capuano and righthander Nick Rumbelow from Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
