Pek back at practice Sunday, Ridnour expects to play this week

Wolves finish preseason with two final games this week

The Wolves went back to work Sunday after taking Saturday off.

And...

Luke Ridnour worked with development coach David Adelman long after practice even though he only shot mostly during it and afterward said he is feeling much better thanks to a cortisone shot to help a herniated disc in his back on Friday.

Ridnour said he checked three times to be sure he wasn't at risk to contract fungal menginitis from the injection, like more than 280 people have nationwide because of contaminated medicine.

He said he expects to play the final two preseason games this week after missing three of the first five.

Nikola Pekovic practiced today with his hurting hand padded to protect a pulled ligament.

Rick Adelman said he expects to play Pekovic in games Wednesday against Detroit in Winnipeg and Friday against Milwaukee in Green Bay.

After that, they will have a week to prepare for their Nov. 2 season opener.

Kevin Love wasn't at practice today and is not expected to accompany the team on these final two games.

One other thing:

Teammates sang Happy Birthday after practice to Ricky Rubio, who turned 22 today.
