Patio furniture manufacturer cuts out the middleman w/ local sale

Madewelloutdoor, an outdoor furniture company based in New Hope, is trying patio furniture sales online in addition to national hardware stores. Bypassing the retailer allows the company to sell directly to the consumer. The new path has been a bit rocky. A pop-up sale in Eden Prairie Center was a bust, so prices are now at cost, according to Madewelloutdoor.com reps.

The best deals in patio furniture in Minnesota usually happen after Labor Day, but selection is usually hit and miss by then. Madewelloutdoor, with a factory in China, is having a sale at prices usually reserved for post season clearance. The selection includes mostly lounge sets and chaises, not dining room sets.

The lounge rattan sets ($599 to $899) include two chairs with back and seat cushions, a loveseat and a long storage ottoman. Foldable chaises are $179 and a sectional/ottoman is $869. More than 250 sets are available.

The sale runs Friday through Sunday on the weekends of May 20-22 and May 27-29. Hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The sale is at 5017 Boone Ave. N., Suite 200 in New Hope. Call 612-309-7465 with questions. All sales are final. Cash and credit cards accepted. For a sampling of more styles (but at higher prices than during the sale), go to MadewellOutdoor.
