OrthoCor Medical raises $1 million

OrthoCor Medical raises $1 million OrthoCor Medical Inc., a Minneapolis start-up developing a device that uses electromagnetic energy to treat knee pain, said it has raised $1 million from angel investors. OrthoCor hopes to obtain Food and Drug Administration approval by August, said CEO John Dinusson, a former venture capitalist who also served as vice president of private banking at Eagle Crest Capital Bank in Edina and director of initiative ventures with the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation.

Land O'Lakes to close Madison plant Land O'Lakes Inc., the Arden Hills agriculture cooperative, said it will close a dairy manufacturing plant in Madison, Wis., within 60 days. The company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it no longer was cost-effective to produce butter there. About 120 employees will be affected. Land O'Lakes said it will increase butter production at its other plants.
