Openings and closings in Albertville Premium Outlets The bad news is that the Waterford/Wedgwood and Mikasa outlets closed this year, and Villeroy & Boch (763-494-9008) will close Sept. 26. Everything at V&B is discounted an extra 25 percent, including clearance. (Christmas clearance is half-off.) If you're unfamiliar with the high-end French-German line, check out the Ceramicsplus nonstick bakeware, which cleans up easily ($25 to $85 before the discount). The bakeware, flatware and crystal rarely went on sale in the past. New outlets opening soon include Under Armour (athletic wear for men, women and kids) Aug. 4, Charlotte Russe (young women's fashions) Oct. 13 and Chico's for women later in October.

Special-occasion dresses from $3 to $50 Operation Glass Slipper helps girls from low-income families attend prom in style, but the dresses donated by retailers can sometimes be a little too bride-ish or mother-of-the-bride-ish for teens. So the nonprofit priced them to sell at a fundraiser. Wedding gowns are $20 to $50, regularly $300 or more. Other dresses sell for $3 to $15, regularly $150 and up. Hundreds of dresses and veils for little girls to play dress-up are $1. What's a $1 dress-up dress look like? Anything with puffy sleeves or butt bows, said organizer Pam Philipp. The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Marriott West (9960 Wayzata Blvd., St. Louis Park 952-544-4400). A similar sale will be held in Blaine Sept. 11-13. Call 651-994-7989 for details.
