Three north metro basketball players recently posted triple-doubles.

Columbia Heights senior forward Emily Sheets recorded 15 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks against North Branch in girls' basketball.

Champlin Park's dynamic duo of Theo John and McKinley Wright both did in twice in a week.

John, a forward who will play at Marquette, registered 16 points, 12 rebounds and 12 blocks against Park Center.

Three nights later he added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks against Coon Rapids.

Wright, a guard who will play at Dayton, struck for triple doubles in consecutive games.

He finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists at Hopkins followed by 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists against Coon Rapids.

Pile of points

Maple Grove senior hockey player Sam Huff had 10 points (two goals, eights assists) in a 14-0 romp against Osseo. A great night, to be sure. But not a record night.

Max Oshie scored 12 goals in a game for Warroad in 1948. Eveleth legend John Mayasich said he once scored 11 goals in a game in 1950.

Huff's Crimson teammate Justin Kelley tallied nine points (three goals, six assists) against Osseo as well.

Hylander signs in football

Columbia Heights senior linebacker Bobby Hosch recently signed to play football at Southwest Minnesota State University.

Hosch was selected as the 2016 Twin Cities Red most valuable defensive player.
