A group whose fans love being outside, the Dave Matthews Band has confirmed its first Minnesota outdoor gig in 14 years June 23 at the new Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Shakopee.

Not only will the Tuesday night concert be the first time Twin Cities DMB fans have gotten to catch the group outdoors since it headlined the short-lived River’s Edge festival on Harriet Island in 2012, it is also now the first concert on the calendar for Mystic Lake Amphitheater’s inaugural year. The venue’s operators, Live Nation, have not confirmed when the 19,000-person amphitheater will actually be finished or who’s going to perform on opening day.

DMB’s date was one of two concerts announced Jan. 27 for the amphitheater near Canterbury Park. The other was a fun twofer of ‘00s-era R&B and hip-hop with Ne-Yo and Akon, scheduled Aug. 5.

Tickets for Matthews’ gig officially won’t go on sale until Feb. 20, but fans can access seats now via the band’s fan club, which lists prices ranging from $59-$225. The Ne-Yo and Akon co-headlining show will go on sale Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.com (prices not yet revealed).
