MPR’s Angela Davis has returned to the airwaves with the announcement that she is now cancer-free.

Davis took a break from “MPR News with Angela Davis” starting in late August 2025, although it wasn’t announced publicly until early October 2025, to battle Stage 1 breast cancer. She told listeners Jan. 12 that she had two surgeries and 20 radiation treatments during her time off. In addition, she also had a root canal.

She started her show, which airs at 9 a.m. weekdays, by thanking the listeners for their support, then launched into an episode about how Minnesotans are coping after last week’s ICE shooting.

Davis, 57, is expected to host an MPR expedition tour to Mexico City later this month.

Before joining MPR in 2018, Davis worked at WCCO TV and KSTP TV. She is married to MPR president Duchesne Drew.
