Movers and Shakers: Chris Bohl, market president, Platinum Bank

Banking executive Chris Bohl is leading Platinum Bank's new location in Plymouth as market president of the Oakdale-based bank's first west metro location.

Bohl, formerly a senior vice president at Bremer Bank, is overseeing team development and the buildup of Platinum Bank's portfolio in the western suburbs.

"I love the opportunities that are out there for developing new relationships and helping those relationships grow by providing services to help clients achieve their goals," Bohl said.

Bohl joins executives from Anchor Bank, Bremer Bank and Wells Fargo at Platinum Bank's Plymouth location. He worked for Bremer a number of years in St. Louis Park before joining Platinum Bank.

"I'm familiar with the area," Bohl said. "The economy is doing well and we can use this opportunity to get into this market and expand our brand."

Bohl, who has more than 15 years of experience in banking, has worked as a financial analyst, lender and commercial team leader. He also has worked in private industry as a chief operating officer.

Platinum Bank founder Marc Cove continues as market president in the east metro.

A: The growth comes from establishing relationships with not only operating businesses or clients but also the advisers to those clients. It's being responsive to the needs of the clients, to work hard to help provides solutions that they're looking for. That will continue with our expansion in the west metro.

Q: Why should small businesses or other customers bring their business to Platinum Bank?

A: The biggest part is our ability to turn things around quickly, to make quick decisions and to be nimble and flexible in what we can try to provide. I take the greatest satisfaction in helping my clients achieve what they want to achieve, whether that's buying a piece of property, buying equipment, buying another company or growing their operations.

Q: How does your experience as a chief operating officer inform your approach to banking?

A: I saw everything that goes on for a company to operate, to produce their product or provide their service, so it gave me a lot more appreciation for what goes into our operating clients. That was the biggest takeaway, a deeper understanding that there's a lot behind a financial statement and financial result.
