After going 2-1-1 in its past four matches, Minnesota United spun out of its momentum in a 1-0 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium.

"Obviously, really disappointed with the result," coach Adrian Heath said. "I thought we showed too little too late. ... We're better than that."

Heath added he expected more specifically from midfielders Kevin Molino and Johan Venegas, whom he subbed out in the second half in favor of fresher legs. In general, he said losing the ball in the opponent's half of the pitch left United without any sustained pressure.

Molino said the attacking players just need to maintain their focus to eliminate some of those turnovers.

"The front-five, front-six have to be mentally tough when things are not going their way," he said, "to keep the mentality to find a way to make a difference."
